How to add prayer times to Google Calendar
Most prayer timetables drop five fixed events into your calendar every day — right on top of your meetings. Salah Calendar instead places each prayer as a short block inside its valid window, around the meetings you actually have, and moves it when your day changes. Here are three ways to get those prayer times into Google Calendar, from best to simplest.
Option 1 — Two-way sync Recommended
Your Google meetings appear in Salah Calendar, prayers are placed around them, and the prayer blocks are written back into Google Calendar — updated automatically when things move.
- Open Salah Calendar and sign in with Google.
- Open the Sync tab (the side panel on a computer, the icon row under the calendar on a phone).
- Click Connect Google Calendar and approve access.
- That's it. A new calendar called “Salah Calendar” appears in Google Calendar's sidebar with your prayer times for the next 14 days.
How it stays up to date:
- Meetings from your main Google calendar show up in the app (read-only) within about five minutes, and prayers re-plan around them.
- Changes you make in the app — including re-placed prayers — reach Google within seconds.
- One-off events you create in the app are written to the same “Salah Calendar” calendar (repeating events stay in the app for now). Your other calendars are never modified.
- Only want your own events synced, not prayers? Untick Include prayer times in your synced calendar in the Sync tab.
Option 2 — Subscribe to a feed
A private link that Google Calendar polls. It works without giving the app access to your Google account, but Google only refreshes subscribed calendars every few hours, so recent changes can take a while to appear.
- Sign in to Salah Calendar, click your avatar (top right) and choose Copy feed link.
- In Google Calendar on a computer, click + next to Other calendars → From URL.
- Paste the link and click Add calendar. If Google rejects it, change
webcal://at the start tohttps://and try again.
The feed contains your events and prayer blocks from the past week to three months ahead.
Option 3 — One-time import (no account needed)
A snapshot you can import once. It won't update, so it suits a quick try.
- In Salah Calendar, open the ⋯ menu → Export .ics. You get 30 days starting from the day you're viewing, prayers included.
- In Google Calendar: Settings → Import & export → select the file → choose a calendar → Import.

What does the app do with my Google Calendar?
It reads events from your main calendar only to place prayers around them, and writes only to the “Salah Calendar” calendar it creates. Access tokens stay on the server, and disconnecting deletes them — see the privacy policy.
How accurate are the times?
They're calculated from your location and chosen method, and can differ from your local mosque's timetable by a few minutes. For Switzerland you can use izrs.ch times directly.
